Jeep's seven-slot grille makes every page in this set easy to recognize. There are 15 pages here: the Wrangler, the Wrangler Rubicon, the Gladiator pickup, the Cherokee, the Grand Cherokee, and the Compass.
A mid-size unibody SUV with trapezoidal wheel arches, a wide low grille between slim swept headlights, roof rails.
About this design. The Cherokee's trapezoidal wheel arches are the fastest way to pick it out of a lineup: a slanted, angular cutout instead of the smoothly rounded arch on a Grand Cherokee.

That one styling choice, paired with a shorter body and a beltline that kicks upward at the back, keeps the two names visually distinct even though they share a badge. The roofline also sits noticeably lower than the Grand Cherokee's, giving the whole outline a leaner, more compact stance.
The Cherokee name is most associated with the XJ generation, launched in 1984 as the first unibody SUV Jeep ever built, years before the Grand Cherokee adopted the same approach.
A small, upright compact crossover with a short stubby hood, a tall greenhouse of large windows, a round center grille emblem.
About this design. The Compass reads as the smallest Jeep in outline: a shorter hood than any other Jeep SUV, a taller greenhouse relative to its length, and corners that pull the wheels in tight instead of spreading them under wide flared arches.

Those proportions come from a compact crossover platform built for city streets first and trails second. Even the roof rail sits closer to the windshield than on any larger Jeep model, a direct result of the shorter overall wheelbase.
The first Compass launched for the 2007 model year, arriving alongside its close relative the Jeep Patriot as Jeep's first entries into the compact crossover class.
A midsize pickup truck with the iconic seven-slot grille, round headlights, square fender flares over large off-road tires, a flat hood, a removable hardtop cab.
About this design. The Gladiator is recognizable because it shares the Wrangler's front end, the seven-slot grille, the round headlights, the square fender flares, but then continues into a pickup bed instead of a closed SUV body.

The outline reads as "Wrangler plus truck bed," which is exactly what Jeep built.
The current Jeep Gladiator went on sale in 2019 as a 2020 model year, the first Jeep pickup since the Comanche left the market in 1992. It is built on a lengthened Wrangler JL platform. The cab and front end share most parts with the Wrangler four-door, which is why the two trucks look so similar from the front.
The Jeep Gladiator pickup truck arrived in 2019 as the first Jeep pickup since 1992. Kids can color the seven-slot grille, the open cargo bed, and the tall off-road tires - then sketch their own cargo, tools, or camping gear in the truck bed.
A rounded five-door unibody SUV with a two-bar front grille, roof rails running front to back, a sloped hood.
About this design. The Grand Cherokee reads as a smooth, rounded SUV rather than a boxy off-roader: curved fenders, a sloped hood, flush door handles, and a liftgate glass that tapers instead of standing straight up.

Those softer lines separate it at a glance from the flat-paneled, removable-door Wrangler built at the same company. Even the roof rails curve gently to match the rest of the greenhouse instead of running as a flat straight bar.
The Grand Cherokee launched at the 1992 Detroit auto show as a 1993 model, stepping in above the smaller Cherokee to give Jeep a more comfortable, more powerful flagship SUV.
A classic two-door Rubicon-style off-road SUV with the iconic seven-slot grille, round headlights, square fender flares, chunky off-road tires, a removable hardtop.
About this design. The Jeep Wrangler is recognizable because the body still speaks utility: a flat hood, a near-vertical windshield, round headlights pushed wide, square fender flares above big tires, and a removable hardtop that opens the cabin to open sky.

Those features turn a simple outline into a clear off-roader.
The Wrangler line started in 1986 with the YJ generation, replacing the long-running CJ-7. Its roots go further back to the Willys MB military jeep first built in 1941 for the US Army during World War II. That military design is why a modern Wrangler still uses round headlights, a folding windshield, removable doors, and a body-on-frame chassis - design choices that are unusual on a 2020s SUV.
The SUV from a rear angle with both front doors and the roof completely removed, an exposed roll bar over the open seats.
About this design. Pulling the doors and roof off is what actually separates a Rubicon from a base Wrangler in this outline: an exposed roll bar, visible seats, and a bare tailgate mount for the spare tire that would normally sit tucked behind bodywork on other trims.

That open-cabin look only happens because Jeep engineers every Wrangler generation to have its doors and top come off cleanly from the factory. The tubular rock rails running beneath the doors are another Rubicon-only detail rarely seen on lower trims.
The Rubicon trim launched in 2003 on the TJ-generation Wrangler, named directly after California's Rubicon Trail near Lake Tahoe, a famously rough 22-mile off-road route that Jeep engineers use to validate new hardware.
A side view of a four-door Jeep Gladiator pickup with its short open bed, driving past mesas, cacti and a big sun.
About this design. The Gladiator is Jeep's pickup truck, and this side view shows how it's put together: a Wrangler-style front end with the seven-slot grille and round headlights, a four-door crew cab and a short open bed behind it.

The truck rolls along a desert trail with two flat-topped mesas, a few cacti, some rocks and a big round sun overhead. Kids can color the door hinges, the fender flares over the chunky tires and the empty bed. Try sand tan or bright orange for the truck, red-brown for the mesas and green for the cacti. The long open space under the truck is perfect for adding tire tracks or a lizard.
A Jeep Gladiator parked at a lake with two kayaks sticking out of its pickup bed, a paddle, a small dock and pine trees.
About this design. A pickup bed is made for hauling gear, and this Gladiator has two kayaks tucked in the back with their tips sticking out past the tailgate. A paddle leans against the door, a small wooden dock reaches into a calm lake, and pine trees and hills fill the far shore.

Kids can color the kayaks in two different bright colors, the water in blues and greens and the sun in yellow. Look closely at the front end to find the seven grille slots and round headlights that mark every Jeep from the Wrangler family. Add a few ducks on the water if there's room.
A Jeep Gladiator pickup splashing along a muddy farm road past a barn, a hay bale, a wooden fence and puddles.
About this design. This Gladiator is bouncing down a muddy farm road, and the splashes show it. Each puddle and splash is an open outline, so kids decide how brown or how silly the mud gets.

Behind the truck there's a classic barn, a round hay bale, a wooden fence and a few leafy trees. A pickup is a handy truck for a farm because the open bed can haul feed, tools or fence posts. Color the Gladiator green or red, the barn in a bold color and the trees in a few shades of green. The wide fender flares are a good spot for a bright accent color.
Want several pages of one Jeep model? Each page below gathers every design of that model, from front and rear views to scenes like camping, towing and a snowy drive.
The Wrangler and Rubicon are the favorites, with round headlights, flat fenders, and a squared-off body that even preschoolers handle well. The Gladiator is basically a Wrangler with a pickup bed. The Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Compass are smoother SUVs with more body curves for ages 6 and up.
Each picture opens its PDF, ready for US Letter or A4. Print a Wrangler and a Gladiator together and ask kids to find every difference between them, which usually starts and ends at the back half of the vehicle.
