Three mobs round out the cast. The Creeper stands upright with the famous four-square face on a rectangular body. The Enderman is tall and eerie, holding a grass block with a narrow head and extremely long arms and legs. The Zombie shuffles with arms stretched straight out and a torn shirt. Square shapes are friendly for ages 3 and up, since every part is a rectangle. Green for the Creeper, teal for Steve's shirt and purple for the Enderman's eyes match the game. Kids who play will probably tell you the right colors.
Alex traditionally has orange-red hair, a light peach skin tone, and wears a teal-green top with brown pants and brown shoes. Her bow is typically brown and beige. You can follow the classic color scheme or create your own custom Alex skin.
Creepers were actually created by accident. Markus Persson was attempting to code a pig model and swapped the height and length values by mistake, creating a tall thin creature. He gave it an explosion behavior rather than deleting it, and the Creeper became one of gaming's most famous monsters.
Endermen originate from the End, a dark dimension separate from the overworld that contains the game's final boss, the Ender Dragon. They also spawn in the overworld at night and in the Nether. Endermen can teleport short distances and become hostile if a player looks directly at their head.
Minecraft was created by Swedish developer Markus Persson (known online as Notch) and first released in 2009. Steve was the default player character from the beginning and got his official name in the game's launcher around 2011.
The main types include the standard Zombie, the Zombie Villager (which can be cured back into a Villager), the Husk (a desert variant that doesn't burn in sunlight), the Drowned (an underwater Zombie that can carry tridents), and Baby Zombies (which move faster than adults and can ride other mobs).
Alex was added in version 1.8 in 2014 as an alternate default player skin. She was introduced alongside changes to the character model that added gender diversity to the default skin options. Alex uses a slightly slimmer arm model than Steve.
