Oversized rear tires spread the tractor's weight across more ground contact, which keeps the machine from sinking into soft or muddy fields while still gripping enough to pull heavy equipment. The deep tread lugs bite into loose soil the same way cleats grip a soccer field, giving the tractor traction that smooth tires could never manage.

The Three-Point Hitch Revolution

Harry Ferguson patented the three-point hitch system in 1926, a simple linkage that let a tractor lift and lower plows, mowers, and other implements right from the driver's seat instead of needing a second person to adjust them by hand. That single invention became standard on tractors worldwide and is still the attachment method most new tractors use today.
