Honda Accord
A midsize sedan with a low sloped roofline, a long hood, a wide lower grille opening, sweeping angular headlights.
About this design
Honda launched the first Accord in Japan and the United States in 1976 as a compact three-door hatchback, well before the roomy midsize sedan shape most drivers picture today. A four-door sedan version joined the lineup in 1979, and the sedan eventually became the Accord's main body style.
Honda opened a plant in Marysville, Ohio in 1982 specifically to build the Accord, making it the first car from a Japanese automaker assembled in the United States. That Ohio plant is still building Accords today, more than four decades later.
The Accord has grown through eleven generations since 1976, each one slightly larger than the last as Honda moved the car from the compact class into the midsize segment where it now competes with cars like the Toyota Camry.
Honda built the very first Accord as a three-door hatchback back in 1976, a detail kids can compare against the sedan shape they are coloring on this free printable sheet.
